*********************************************************************** Product: Daily Forecast of Geomagnetic Activity Issued: 2019 March 09 06:26UTC Prepared by the Athens Space Weather Forecasting Center *********************************************************************** 1. Solar activity Solar activity was decreasing stable during the past 24 hours. Solar Flux (10.7 cm) measured on 08.03.2019 at 20:00 UTC was 72 sfu. The background X-Ray flux is at the class A3 level. The geomagnetic field was at very quiet to unsettled levels on March 8. AR2734 produced a C1 class solar flare on March 8 at 03:20 UT. A faint CME spotted by LASCO on March 8 at almost one hour later. Output from EAMv2 model: Expected date and time for the arrival of the CME: 12/03/2019 Time: 03:52 UT. The Kp index now is at quiet levels with Kp=1. 2. Solar Wind Geomagnetic Activity Solar Wind speed from ACE: 400 km/s. Solar Wind speed from STEREO A: 340 km/s. Solar Wind speed from STEREO B: --- km/s. The southward component Bz is: 0 nT. 3. Solar Energetic Particle Events Protons and electrons are quiet. 4. Coronal Holes No obvious coronal holes are currently in the visible solar disk. 5. Geophysical Activity Forecast The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet levels, with a chance for active intervals, on March 9-10 and at quiet levels on March 11.
